Niagara Health System (NHS), a multi-site network, has shown monumental project leadership as their clinicians have reached over 70,000 Patient Order Sets submissions!
This busy, 5 site, 722-bed health system, that serves 12 different communities across Southern Ontario, has made tremendous progress transitioning from paper-based Order Sets to electronic Order Set submission with EntryPoint. The organization has implemented EntryPoint across all inpatient areas as well as 2 outpatient areas, including the Heart Investigation Unit and Emergency Departments, and seen incredible adoption with its staff.
By moving to EntryPoint, NHS has been able to ensure inventory control over its Order Sets library across its various hospitals as well as increased compliance with site and regional quality initiatives. What’s more, the organization is leveraging Spotlight to gain a deep understanding on the impact its Order Sets are having on improving key quality, patient safety and outcomes metrics such as: falls rates, lab costs and diagnostic imaging costs.
“As the first health system to join our collaborative network in 2006, Niagara Health System has been a valued partner for many years. Their recent success rolling out electronic Patient Order Sets across the organization demonstrates NHS’ leadership and vision in delivering high quality healthcare,” said Dr. O’Connor of Think Research.
