Think Research Establishes New Canadian Benchmark with GDPR Ready Data Centre

Toronto, ON – May 25, 2018 – Think Research, a leading digital healthcare platform provider, today announced its General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) ready data centre hosted within the European Union (“EU”) on the IBM Cloud platform. This move validates Think Research’s world-class privacy and security position and further demonstrates their commitment to EU clients and global growth.

“Think Research has a growing client base in the EU. This certification is just one more example of our commitment to provide best of breed clinical tools to the EU market in the most secure way possible” says Chris Collenette, Director, EMEA for the Company.

GDPR ensures that a company’s data privacy measures are of the highest caliber and that our patient’s personal information is handled appropriately. Compliance to this regulation is now a key requirement for doing business in the EU. Think Research’s cloud servers not only meet but exceed the highest international standards for privacy and security.

“Since day one, our Company has stressed the importance of data protection throughout our cloud-based platform,” said Darace Rose, VP IT Operations at Think Research. “At Think Research, we’re meticulous in our treatment of patient data and constantly implement the most up-to-date best practices. Our Company will remain diligent on this important issue, and we look forward to continuing to set the privacy and security standard for Canadian healthcare technology companies.”

Before the Company’s GDPR certification, Think Research’s EntryPoint platform had already met North America’s highest standards, including alignment with the Personal Health Information Privacy and Access Act (PHIPAA) and attesting to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). In 2012, KPMG conducted a Privacy Impact Assessment which recognized EntryPoint as a practical, reliable, and trustworthy cloud-computing service.

With the launch of this data centre, Think Research will be one of the first Canadian-based cloud software companies to operate a data centre in the EU – certainly one of the few Digital Health SaaS providers.

The new data centre follows on Think Research’s recent EU success – opening a local office in Ireland, expanding the local team, and several client engagements – and underscores the Canadian companies’ commitment to global growth and serving the local needs of their European customers.
