TORONTO, Sep. 12, 2019  – Think Research, a leading digital healthcare platform provider, today announced a collaboration with the Directorate of Health, Iceland. Together, they aim to improve medical care for the treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and the delivery of obstetric care using evidence-based tools.

This initiative offers Think Research’s best practice Order Sets and reference content at the point of care across Iceland’s healthcare facilities, standardizing clinical practice on a national scale. The project aims to improve access to quality care, reduce costs and ensure patient safety for all of Iceland’s patients.

“The Directorate of Health promotes innovative eHealth projects that can enhance clinical practice, increase patient safety and support the quality of healthcare delivery, said Dr. Alma D. Möller, Director of Health.  “We are happy to start this journey of implementing standardized patient order sets targeted for the treatment of COPD and the delivery of Obstetric Care with Think Research and look forward to a fruitful collaboration”.

“Working with the Directorate of Health, Iceland is an exciting opportunity to enhance clinical standardization for COPD and the delivery of obstetric care across all of Iceland,” said Dr. Chris O’Connor, President and Founder of Think Research. “Through this work, we’ll deliver best practice content that aligns with Iceland’s clinical priorities and quality improvement initiatives now and into the future.”

Think Research’s digital tools enable delivery of evidence-based care at the bedside, decreasing the amount of time it takes for research to reach the point of care. The tools standardize clinical content, strengthen clinical decision making and optimize existing workflows ‒ creating efficiencies, improving care quality and outcomes.

“When clinicians have the latest clinical information when and where they need it, patients receive better care,” added Sachin Aggarwal, CEO of Think Research. “We’re thrilled to embark on this project with the Directorate of Health, Iceland ‒ it represents a major milestone in our European footprint expansion, and our first country-wide deployment.  The project demonstrative of our ability to work across a variety of different clinical and technical environments.
