A series of webinars will focus on the importance of heart health, specifically for seniors, with the first to feature renowned Cardiologist, Dr. Arvinder Grover

(Toronto, ON) September 30, 2020 Think Research, a Canadian health technology company, has partnered with KMH Cardiology Centres on outreach and educational support for Ontario’s long-term care sector.

Think Research and KMH will provide long-term care staff and physicians with greater awareness of, and referral access to KMH Cardiology diagnostic and specialist services at their 10 locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area and South Western Ontario.

Through a series of webinars, the joint goal of this partnership is to assist long-term care physicians to detect disease early, plan patient management and effectively monitor treatment within the long-term care homes where they work. This includes streamlining the referral process for physicians and residents.

“Access to specialists and advanced diagnostics is critical for patients and care providers,” says Ajay Deshmukh, CEO of KMH Cardiology Centres. “Unfortunately, it is often seen as a bottleneck in the healthcare system. We want to ensure that an appropriate, high quality, seamless and timely experience all intersect, that’s exactly what this partnership does.”

“We’re thrilled to be working with KMH on this important initiative,” says Kirsten Lewis, VP of Clinical Research & Development at Think Research. “Heart failure affects up to 20 percent of residents in long-term care and is linked to morbidity, mortality, and often repeated hospitalizations. Education is key to helping residents and staff manage this prevalent condition.”

The first webinar will take place on October 26 at 12:00 p.m. and will feature a presentation on the latest approaches to treating heart failure by Cardiologist, Dr. Arvinder Grover.

In addition to being a staff Cardiologist at KMH, Dr. Grover is the Director of the Heart Health prevention program dedicated to reducing the risk of heart disease and stroke through lifestyle modification. Dr. Grover is also affiliated with Credit Valley hospital/ Trillium Health Partners and is the past Director of Cardiology, Cleveland Clinic Canada.

The webinar will cover:

  • Care of seniors with heart failure
  • Review of state-of-the-art pharmacotherapy management
